Problem - Black Textures

Hi, I recently bought BBS (which a lot of friends have been asking me to buy to play with them).

However, I'm facing a severe problem. When I want to play with a "heavy" bus, like for example the Urbanway NP from the Nerosy DLC, I end up with black textures that recover their color when I zoom in a lot.

Of course, after several checks of the logfile (OMSI is a capricious child), several reinstallations of DirectX, and so on, I still have the problem.

After the 327th attempt (according to my calculations), and yet another recheck of the logfile, it gave me no adequate information for this bug.

Am I the only one having this problem? How can I fix it, knowing that I've already played with my OMSI settings several times.

Sorry for my disgusting English made in Google Translate, and thank you in advance for your answers.

  • UPDATE:

I solved the problem by disabling the Bump Map.

    UPDATE (yepa, another one):

It only worked for two days before starting again. Still the same thing, the logfile that says nothing and all that.

Does anyone have a viable solution?

  • Hello eethh_

I hope I understood correctly. The bus (or other AI vehicles) are displayed in black. Only when zoomed in very closely do they appear in their actual colors!?

I can reassure you, you're certainly not the only player with this problem ;-). I also have this problem from time to time, but mostly with AI vehicles. Often, it only appears after a longer period of play. Of course, graphically detailed vehicles (including the Nerosy buses) are more susceptible to this, as they are more demanding on the hardware.

This is usually a sign of insufficient memory capacity (RAM/graphics memory). Sometimes restarting the game (so that all memory is reset) helps. Otherwise, you can "just" experiment with the graphics options in OMSI and find the best settings (such as bump maps, reflections, shadows... which all have a significant impact on performance). And of course, always remember the 4GB patch ;)

(I've moved this post to the correct section, as this isn't a BBS issue.)

    Freundliche Grüße / Kind regards

Set the Label from In process to Closed (No Solution)
  • Good evening,

After further analysis of the error, it appears to occur when a plugin is deleted.

So it was already solved fairly quickly: all you had to do was not delete the plugins.

The problem has now been solved.
